Overview of ARIB Standards (STD-T108)
1. Overview
STD Number | ARIB STD-T108 |
---|---|
Standard Name | 920MHz-Band Telemeter, Telecontrol and Data Transmission Radio Equipment |
General Description | Among the Land Mobile Radio Stations defined in Article 16 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Law, this standard specifies the telemeter, telecontrol and data transmission radio equipment that uses the frequency of 920.5MHz or more and 923.5MHz or less specified in Article 49, Clause 34 of the Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment (Part 1). In addition to the above, among the Specified Low Power Radio Stations defined in Article 6 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Law, this standard specifies telemeter, telecontrol and data transmission radio equipment that uses the frequency of 915.9 MHz or more and 929.7 MHz or less specified in Article 49, Clause 14 of the Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment (Part 2). This standard includes three parts. Part 1 describes land mobile radio stations, Part 2 describes the specified low power radio stations, and Part 3 describes the specified low power radio stations (which do not require career sense). |
2. Amendment History
Ver. | Amendment or Enactment Date | Amendment summary |
---|---|---|
1.5 | 03.03.2023 | Reflected the revisions of regulations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications for 20mW specified low-power radio stations (active tag system) in the 920MHz band. Specifically, in "Part 2: Specified Low Power Radio Stations", about the systems with antenna power of 20 mW or less, the permissible value for occupied bandwidth was changed from 1 MHz (5 channels) to 4 MHz (20 channels). |
1.4 | 04.23.2021 | Reflected the revisions of regulations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications for 20mW specified low-power radio stations (active tag system) in the 920MHz band which do not require carrier sense. Specifically, in addition to the current "Part2 Specified low-power radio stations", "Part3 Specified low-power radio stations (not requiring career sense)" was added, which newly defines the requirements for systems not requiring carrier sense. In Part3, the technical conditions for the FH (Frequency Hopping) method and the LDC (Low Duty Cycle) method were specified. FH method and LDC method were also added to "Appendix Operational Rule". |
1.3 | 04.12.2019 | In the 920 MHz band active system low power radio system (20 mW specified low power radio station), the transmission time limit has been relaxed when switching between multiple channels. The purpose of mitigation is to reduce the data transfer time for updating firmware for security measures and function addition with a smart meter that performs multi-hop communication, and to improve collection frequency at the time of disaster by river observation system. |
1.2 | 01.22.2018 | The introduction of active low power wireless systems (land mobile stations: 250 mW) compatible with LPWA has progressed. To be able to operate such a system more efficiently, channel extensions and related operational specifications have been added. |
1.1 | 10.17.2017 | This standard has been revised in response to the development of a system by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (to enable various applications and various equipment development of 920 MHz band low power wireless system). Specifically, changing the type of radio station to respond to the expansion of needs for new usage purposes such as IoT telecommunication services, addition of specified frequency band to improve frequency utilization efficiency. In addition, technical standards are relaxed to enable development and use of various wireless systems including downsizing of devices. |
