Overview of ARIB Technical Report (TR-B5)

1. Overview

TR Number ARIB TR-B5
Technical Report Name Guideline for Composite Digital Video Interface in The NTSC/M Television System
Enactment Date 04.22.1997
General Description

This technical report specifies the operational guideline for the allowable range of data deviation that enables synchronization separation to be performed reliably at the parallel interface or serial interface of the composite digital video signal in an NTSCM/M television system, using the synchronization-signal data on that interface.

The contents of the stipulation conform to RS-170A of the EIA standard, which is a commonly used antecedent of the synchronization-signal standard SMPTE-170M provided for analog signals, and specify operational guidelines whereby the synchronization-data deviation is controlled so as not to deviate from a range that meets the RS-170A standard.

 Keywords

Keyword Description
TRS-ID

Signal for synchronization of SMPTE 259M signal (synchronization signal)

TRS is used to discriminate horizontal synchronization, and ID (line number-ID) to discriminate line number and color field.

C (BIT) Digit for synchronization of a BTS 6431 (10B1) signal
Representative value and allowable range of synchronization signal In this technical report, X±Y represents a synchronization signal specification. X is the representative value and Y is the allowable range of a synchronization signal.
